Retail Security Gates
EAS Anti-Theft Detection Systems for Supermarkets, Shops & Shopping Malls
FAQs
EAS (Electronic Article Surveillance) security gates are anti-theft detection systems installed at retail store exits. They detect active EAS tags or labels attached to merchandise and trigger an alarm if items pass through without being deactivated at the point of sale.
The main types are AM (Acousto-Magnetic, 58kHz) and RF (Radio Frequency, 8.2MHz). AM systems offer higher detection rates and are less affected by metal shelving, making them the preferred choice for supermarkets and large retail stores.
AM (58kHz) EAS systems offer superior detection accuracy with fewer false alarms and work better in environments with metal fixtures. RF (8.2MHz) systems are lower cost and suitable for clothing and smaller retail environments.
Yes. Our EAS gates detect both reusable hard tags (attached to garments and electronics) and disposable soft labels (applied to packaging), depending on the technology and frequency selected.
Standard EAS gate aisle widths range from 0.9m to 1.8m per panel pair. Wider aisles may require additional antenna panels to maintain full detection coverage across the exit.
